I'm an independent scholar and stay at home parent of two, with a diverse education and work experience background in literature, history, theatre, birth work, and theology. Your support enables me to more readily and reliably dedicate time to my various writing and research projects, including a poetry anthology exploring trauma recovery and Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, creating affirming and accessible resources for other transgender and/or non-binary parents, and working on research that seeks to continue the work of other scholars in decolonizing Tolkien studies. Currently, I am generally able to submit and present work at least once a year, but with a stable enough financial base, I hope to be able to return to graduate studies I've had to put on hold and to continue to pursue publishing and speaking opportunities.
